In the world of Dungeons and Dragons actual plays, there are many that use official modules. There are also many that use homebrew worlds. One out of those many is set in a world where the nations have taken to the skies: Sky Realm by Homie and the Dude.
This game is narrated by self proclaimed "unexceptional dungeon master," Bodhi Kambouris. I hate to say this so early in a review, but I don't agree with that statement. Bodhi is amazing at what he does, whether it's painting the picture of what's happening in the world or creating awesome voices for the many NPCs that the party has encountered. And what a party it is!
A group of adventurers are drawn to a specific "island" by chance, all for different reasons, but they all share something in common: a shared dream that could save the Sky Realm. First off, the is Sirgeo Shelby, a young Tortle cleric played by Tom Kambouris. Then there is Blanco Montaña, an awakened dog ranger, and the party's nod to Indigo Montoya, played by Tracy Kambouris. Next is Evis, an Air Genasi monk played by Amber "The Spacejamber" Logsdon. Then there's Toad, and awakened toad familiar who is a bard, played by Blake Francis using Underground Oracle Publishing's special race and rules. You can't leave out Aranar Greywolf, the Half-Orc Barbarian Private Investigator played by none other than Sam Comerford, the DM of the Aetherlogue! Last but certainly not least is Romulus, the Warforged Druid played by Rian Talbot.
They go on to do great things in the 20+ episodes I listened to, including saving an island that's main source of commerce was slowly dying, joining an underground revolutionary group, taking part in a fight club, and dealing with the Mafia!
If this interests you as much as it has interested me (it's one of my for pleasure listens!), check them out on your podcast player of choice. Also, they stream on Twitch and have a YouTube channel, so you can see their amazing art and watch as they play! They are currently getting ready to launch an Airship Combat Kickstarter, which you can find at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/homieandthedude/sky-zephyrs-5e
