Solo Gaming: Firelights

Sometimes it's hard to get a group together to play a table top roleplaying game. I know this all too well. When I started playing, the closest thing we had to a solo rpg was "Choose Your Own Adventure," and I cheated at that! Today, I'm going to give you a review of a modern solo rpg: Firelights by René-Pier Deshaies-Gélinas published by Fari RPGs.

Other than the game itself, you only need some everyday items to play; a deck of cards(jokers removed) 2d6, and a journal. The story sounds very interesting. You are a Firelight, which is a creature that guides the dead beyond the veil. Your quest is to relight the beacons in six regions while fighting off curses and helping the undead.

Without seeing the actual game text, I can't tell you exactly what happens or how, but reading through their press packet and accessing the game creator booklet, gave me more insight the the trifold booklet I saw to start. It is in the Metroidvania style and sounds like an incredibly interesting game to try.

Fari RPGs just released this February 7th, so it is fairly new to the market and with a price point of $6, it's incredibly affordable.
