I don't have a very large repertoire of TTRPG experience. I've played DnD 2e and 5e, Ghostbusters International, and a multitude of different Palladium games. When I was approached by someone to review a Pathfinder Actual Play, I was a little skeptical. How can I review something I know so little about? Dice of Thunder changed my mind entirely!
Dice of Thunder is the story of two Pathfinder Society agents sent to Alkenstar to rendezvous with someone. Alkenstar is like a steampunk wild west. Upon arrival, the two agents get ambushed by a group of Shield Marshalls, claiming they were smugglers. They were saved by two "outlaws" who they later met at the rendezvous point. They all get into several shenanigans as they are trying to do the mission they were sent there for.
The characters are Lutin, an undine sprite druid/sorcerer,
Kainros, an aasimar shisk magus/oracle,
Balnor, an automaton gunslinger/investigator, and
Dar'Nyru, a catfolk rogue/psychic.
They are GM'd by Scott Hoffman. Please see Tony's interview with Scott for more on him .
The best thing I think about Dice of Thunder is they really take the time to explain rules and what is happening to the audience. Listening to them, I feel more knowledgeable about the Pathfinder 2e system.
