Sometimes, when you're listening to actual plays, ads for other shows get played. Some, I just put in the back of my mind for future listening. When I heard the promo for Bad Heroes, I knew I had to do a review right away!
Bad Heroes is a Pathfinder 1E campaign surrounding a group of strangers brought together for the sole purpose of fighting the curses that plague the Kingdom of Vyre. Those strangers are Gydeon Greyfrost (played by Kazz Baloo), an Elven draconic sorcerer who enjoys a good book and a warm bath, even if everyone else is watching, Tonreir Ceni (played by Koulnis), a half-elven Druid who enjoys hardcore parkour and his owl companion, Rul'Thuin, Iria Clawstrike (played by Liska Winter), is a catfolk bard with a curiosity death wish and a proficiency in the hang drum, and Wingthe Faldrum (played by Jake Hoskinson and Lian Rose), is a human fighter who is a former mercenary with a penchant for wearing pink fuzzy bunny slippers under her boots. The campaign is GMed by Drea Silver tooth, an incredible storyteller with a fascination with blanket forts.
The first arc of their campaign is called The Forgotten Court. It starts as the "heroes" are "acquired" by the Queen of Vyre to hunt the curses plaguing the kingdom: Vampirism, Lycanthropy, and Zombies. They are given specific instructions as to what they need to do to complete their task, as well as access to items to help them on their way. Their is a lot of mind control, most through music, as well as tear jerking moments of both laughter and sadness as they make their way to their quarry, the vampire Lord Oberon, with the assistance of the vampire hunter Nyx, and Oberon's former consort, Thalia.
Although they are "bad heroes," especially with their dice rolls early on, they really pull it together in the clutch! If you enjoy this sort of tale, give Bad Heroes a listen on your podcast player of choice, give them a follow on "X" @badheroescast, or check out their website at badheroescast.com
