First, I must apologize. We're more than halfway through the first month of a new year and this is my first post. I've been incredibly busy with the holidays and the beginnings of my text based campaign, The Heroes of the Verminguard, on my Discord server. Check it out at https://discord.gg/wvuEUs3Q.
Also, there are going to be changed here, with a new name and an additional correspondent: Tony Spengler, the illustrious Dungeon Master of the All Flex, No Dex Actual Pla
But, I digress. On to an actual review! Today's review is of the In 2 The Dungeon Podcast. It is a Dungeons and Dragons actual play podcast, but it is different from any of the others I have reviewed. This is run duet style, with only the Dungeon Master and the player, currently Nich and Alan respectively. They are currently running the official content, The Dragon of Icespire Peak. The story tells of Shrew, a Halfling Druid who grew up in Neverwinter, and his quest to protect Phandelin from orcs and an imminent dragon attack. Along with his companions, Fannah, the gnome cleric, and Favian, a warrior(rolls by Alan, voiced by Nich), Shrew's Shrubberies as they are called get into multiple antics.
One of the things that I find interesting about them gameplay is that the DM rolls their stealth checks. This way the characters may think they are being quiet, even when they aren't. Also, death saves are rolled blind, so the characters don't know if they pass of fail until the DM tells them. There have been a few close calls, but everyone is still kicking. They even are using community donated "potions" in game, which shouts out the donators! It's an incredible podcast and you should check them out wherever you get your podcasts. Wow thanks for the awesome review. Glad you are enjoying it so far. Whilst it’s a official adventure we’ve had to adapt it significantly to work for just two of us which we will record a special video episode on once we complete this adventure. Thanks again your kind words motivate us to keep going :)
