Magic, Technology, & Sexual Innuendo: The Aetherlogue

Of all the worlds I've been listening to lately, one of the most interesting has to be Vidra, the world of The Aetherlogue podcast. This world was co-created by the DM, Sam Comerford (Twiiter's maestro of Shitty Character Ideas) and the players, including Matt Joro (Twitter's @dungeonglitch, who has his own world building prompts out there). The world of Vidra is post-apocalyptic with a mix of magic and revived ancient technology. A major source of magic, or technology enhancement is Key Crystal. It is used as currency and powers certain technologies, while, in large quantities, it can be very necrotic and corrupting.

The story is about 4 heroes: Octavia Grant, a Reborn bard, Daashi, an Aasimar Grief Cleric, Draig Shatterhand, a human Barbarian, and Gale, a homebrew snake person who is a Wyvern Scribe, which is a military monk/fighter style class. Their major objective is to find and defeat a gnome known as Onyx Eye, who is helping a death cult and creating zombies in his wake.

In order to do this, the party decides to join the Collective, a group of operatives who specialize in dealing with these types of threats. Although it sounds serious and morbid, this actual play is entirely hilarious as each episode is filled with puns and sexual innuendo!

If you like this type of actual play, or are interested in finding out more of what this is about, check out the Aetherlogue podcast at Aetherlogue.com as well as checking them out on your friendly neighborhood podcast provider. Also, if you get the chance, ask Sam (@rrollplaying on Twitter) about the Mother Plucker🤣
